Six decades ago, BEHER launched the breeding of its own livestock, by building Pure Iberian Breed animal farms. Nowadays, it owns more than 3 000 mothers that breed 45 000 100 % Iberian Breed animals.

GENETIC “BREED”
All reproductive Pure Iberian male and females are registered in the sole stud book existing nowadays, the one from “Aeceriber“(Asociación Española de Criadores de Ganado Porcino Selecto Ibérico Puro y Tronco Ibérico).
AGE
It is essential for the pig to thrive its morphology and physiology, growing and muscular development, so as to gain the optimal weight.
FEEDING
It is monitored through our own fed that we make in our farms. The grain is specifically analysed to control its qualities and the right traceability. We have a professional staff of nutritional vets who create the concrete formula.
HEALTHCARE
A comprehensive vaccination protocol on all our farms prevents disease. The cleaning and disinfection of the buildings, rooms and parks where the pigs are kept is another of our maxims at a sanitary level.
ENVIRONMENT
Taking care of it allows our pigs to be in their natural habitat, the countryside. That is why it is essential for us to respect and maintain it.

Our pigs are free-range in a privileged environment and fed with resources from the countryside such as grass, roots, tubers and characteristic fruits such as acorns. In each of the animals' growth phases, the diet is supplemented with selected raw materials processed in our own facilities, guaranteeing the homogeneity of the breeding and fattening process.

In BEHER we are committed to a large annual investment to ensure the hygiene and welfare of animals at all stages. We have modern and innovative facilities with perfectly defined areas, such as the calving area, breeding area, showers for the animals, etc.

Para todo ello ha contado con el apoyo del Programa XPANDE DIGITAL de la Cámara de Comercio de Salamanca “Una manera de hacer Europa” y el Programa Incorporación de las TIC en las Pymes desarrollado por el Instituto para la Competitividad Empresarial de la Junta de Castilla y León.
